Police in Bali are stepping up security after a threat was made to carry out bomb attacks on the Indonesian resort island.
The police say they are investigating a letter delivered by a man on a motorbike to a government office on Monday. They are trying to identify the sender.
The letter reportedly stated that some of the militants responsible for last week’s attacks in Jakarta are currently in Bali. The letter warned that they are ready to blow up shopping centers, offices and tourist destinations.
The police have deployed more officers at the airport and in crowded areas.
Last Thursday, a group of men carried out gun and bomb attacks in central Jakarta. They killed 4 people and wounded 26 others. An organization calling itself the Indonesian branch of the Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility.
