Japanese companies are exploring business opportunities in Israel. They are taking part in a cybersecurity exhibition in Tel Aviv, looking to collaborate with local firms.
More than 250 companies, including global IT businesses and local ventures, are at Cybertech 2016. Israel is known as a leader in the field of cybersecurity.
Japanese companies are trying to play a bigger role in the industry, and six are taking part in the exhibition. The Japan External Trade Organization, or JETRO, has set up a booth there for the first time.
A major printing firm is showing off a system that prevents attacks on apps used for smartphones and other devices.
A company representative says the firm wants to use the show as an opportunity to advertise its products to the world, as well as to seek possible collaboration with Israel’s many start-ups.
In recent years, major firms looking for the latest technology have been buying Israeli cybersecurity start-ups.
