The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is gearing up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. A newly released online PR video is dramatizing their counter-terrorism and anti-crime readiness.
The video was uploaded onto YouTube, and cost about 180,000 dollars to produce.
One episode shows a special assault team raiding a terrorist hideout and overpowering terrorists. Another shows special police officers guarding a foreign dignitary. Police search for stimulant drugs at the office of a crime syndicate in another scene.
Most of the roles are played by more than 1,000 active duty police officers.
The video is available in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean.
